Buy Your Snowmobiling Permits Early & Save

Buy your snowmobiling permits early before December 1st, 2009 for $200.00 and save on the annual cost by $50.00. Annual permits purchased after December 1st are $250.00. Our 7 day permits are $140.00 and our 3 day permits are $100.00 for the 2009/2010 season. Hurry and enjoy what District 16 has to offer.

It is important to buy your permits within the area you plan to do most of your snowmobiling. The funds from the permits will go back into the trails that you ride the most.

Permit Application Form: Please Print and Complete Form, sign in designated areas and return it to your local snowmobile club or permit vendors.

Winter Is Here but still need more snow!!

Winter is here and we are all wishing for more snow. The groomers need more snow to get the trails up and running in full, but that doesn’t mean that work for the snowmobile clubs is done. Work on the trails continues throughout the year. Brushing, tree cutting, installing signage and other maintenance will continue into the next season. More volunteers are needed to help with the ongoing work. If you or someone you know is wanting to try something new or has some extra time on their hands, feel free to inquire on a volunteer position with your local club or the North of Superior Snowmobile Association. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed.

We hope everyone had a safe and superb snowmobiling year.

The North of Superior Snowmobile Association will be travelling the District to collect Trail Guide Map Advertisements as well as attending different Trade Shows to promote District 16. We will keep you posted throughout the year on upcoming news and events.

Remember when riding on the trails to have a valid permit, insurance and driver’s license because the Trail Patrol and S.T.O.P. programs will be very active this year. Don’t get caught without them!

Border Crossing – CANPASS

Anyone wishing to cross the border into Canada will need a CANPASS to cross in remote areas. Click on CANPASS to get to the application process. Please be advised that anyone wishing to cross the border by snowmobile should contact the border that they intend to cross. We have made several telephone calls to our local boder and have been given unclear advice as whether or not you can cross in remote areas regarding the U.S. side.
